Sunday Afternoon poem

I tried and tried to take a nap
One Sunday afternoon
But thoughts of you kept coming through
This crazy day in June.

Although you are across the world
You might as well be here
Because in all of my quiet thoughts
You were so very near.

There are places we were going
There were things we were to do
We never leave or be apart
Because we’re One from Two.

We pledge that we don’t make a move
Unless our hands are joined
That way, we can plot and plan
So our lives stay so entwined.

We walk together hand in hand
How happy are our hearts
Our smiles bespeak our special joy,
At never being far apart.

And now I wait for you to come
To make our dreams come true
So that we can do as we plan
Sharing love between us two.
