Tough Times Poem

We were told so many times the first year is the hardest

We know that it's true.
Over coming so much these past two years.

No one thought that we could make it.

They said we were too young to know what was right.
We fight often and yell a lot.

There were a few nights when the tears put me to sleep.

However, when all the feelings are out and we both calm down the make up begins.

We say we're sorry and hug one another, remembering how we fell in love.
People tell us we should call it quits or take a break, but in the end

I have you and you have me.

Through the good advice and bad opinions

We have stayed strong smiling day by day.
Another year flew right by, the fights don't come as often as they used to

and we do a lot less making up, but have a lot of loving.
We are two years down two years wiser and two years more in love.

It gets easier if you can remember the good, not the bad.

The tough times keep coming but the love is there behind it.

The Dream I Had poem

Last night as I lay sleeping, love,
A vision came to me.
It was of you and I, my love,
A wondrous sight to see.
And in the dream I had, my love,
I reached and touched your face
I clasped your hand in mine, my love,
And felt your warm embrace.
I pressed my lips to yours, my love,
To taste you, oh so sweet.
You held me for a minute, love,
In this moment that did fleet.

I tried and tried to take a nap
One Sunday afternoon
But thoughts of you kept coming through
This crazy day in June.

Although you are across the world
You might as well be here
Because in all of my quiet thoughts
You were so very near.

There are places we were going
There were things we were to do
We never leave or be apart
Because we’re One from Two.

We pledge that we don’t make a move
Unless our hands are joined
That way, we can plot and plan
So our lives stay so entwined.

We walk together hand in hand
How happy are our hearts
Our smiles bespeak our special joy,
At never being far apart.

And now I wait for you to come
To make our dreams come true
So that we can do as we plan
